Marketing Your Small Business Using Facebook

Marketing Your Small Business Using Facebook

Facebook is becoming the go to way in order to learn about a business and what they do. Be sure that your small business has a healthy and mission focused brand on social media. Use Facebook to place your brand in front of the right people at the right time and in the right ways. With the use of Facebook marketing you can reach your audience in a personable and creative way. How can you get creative and take advantage of marketing through Facebook? Find a few tips below!

  1. The About Section. Make sure your business Facebook page has an About Tab that is up to date with as much information as you can provide. Make it as easy as possible for viewers to find out who you are, why you do what you do, and how they can get in contact with you. Users want information fast and easy. Present your business in a way that is straight forward, attention getting, and personable. Simplicity and transparency is key!

  2. Facebook Live. A lot of businesses have begun to use Facebook Live in order to communicate with users. Depending on your businesses services or products, it will vary how you are able to use Facebook Live. For example, if you are an owner that has a brick and mortar location you could do a Facebook Live to show your viewers around the shop. Go Live and show your viewers new products that are coming in or seasonal updates, sales or promotions, etc. Going Live on Facebook gives your business a more personal feeling and allows for a better connection with your customers.

  3. Doing contests on Facebook. Using your business Facebook page to run a promotional contest is a great way to gain followers and exposure. A lot of businesses are creating posts that involve a giveaway and action item by viewers. For example, “Follow our page. Like and share this post to be entered into a drawing for a free item or gift card.” Contests are a great way to get your brand in front of new audiences and expand your brand in a fun and creative way.

  4. Hosting a Facebook Event. Depending on the nature of your business a Facebook Event may be an option for you. If your business holds an event, whether that is in person or virtual, a Facebook Event is a great way to spread the word. A Facebook Event will allow you to tell your viewers about the upcoming event and invite them. If your event is virtual, be sure to include a link to register. If your event is in person, the description of your Facebook Event is a great way to discuss which type of social distancing measures will be taken. A Facebook Event is easy to share and promote.

  5. Branding is everything. Users are constantly scrolling through news feeds and are exposed to numerous amounts of content each day. How can you make your content stand out? A brand that is easily understood and recognizable is the answer. Be sure your Facebook Cover Photo/Video and Facebook Profile Image are cohesive with your businesses brand. Create content that is eye catching, brand focused, and professional to your industry. Many businesses are turning to programs such as Canva in order to develop content that is memorable in the right ways.
