Take a guess at how many women-owned businesses there are in Iowa. Did you guess anywhere near 73,300? That was the number in 2015 according to a national report compiled by American Express. That same report says female-owned businesses contributed nearly $8 million to the economy in 2015, and employ more than 50,000 people. Let’s celebrate that and encourage more.
This is YOUR opportunity to honor the contributions made by women to the Iowa business landscape. The NAWBO Iowa Celebration of Excellence program is an established tradition in the state, recognizing our highest achieving female entrepreneurs in Iowa. The event sells out annually, so make sure to reserve your place today!
This year’s honors go to:
- Miriam Erickson Brown, Anderson Erickson Dairy, NAWBO Hall of Fame Legacy Award
- Mary Anne Kennedy, Primary Source, NAWBO Iowa Woman Business Owner of the Year
- Jayne Armstrong, U.S. Small Business Administration, NAWBO Advocate of the Year
