MOOC’s Provide Free Learning Opportunities

Things are changing in higher education just like everything else on the planet, due to the internet allowing connectivity for people any time, any where.  A number of college-level courses are now available for anyone to enroll in, free, online.  These courses are known as MOOC’s, which stands for Massive Open Online Course.

MOOC’s allow access to great courses and an environment where you can collaborate in teams and on exciting projects.  Several colleagues of mine took a course on entrepreneurship under the name Venture Lab last year, and remarked about how interesting and top-notch the content was.

Over the past several years, MOOC’s have proliferated.  More presentations, business models, videos, and a number of companies around the world have been created.  The founder and CEO of NovoEd, Amin Saberi, who is also Associate Professor and 3COM faculty scholar at Stanford University, forwarded the following information on an entrepreneurship curriculum in partnership with a number of universities and institutions. The initial 10-15 courses cover essential entrepreneurship topics, including how to start and grow a venture, how to secure funding and how to be a CEO.

Resources like MOOC’s can help an entrepreneur with very specific or general needs.   Check them out and see what they can do for you!
