Turner Construction & ISU CIRAS will host its 2nd Construction Diversity Accelerator (CDA) program in person for the 2023 season. For the last 50 years, Turner has engaged minority-owned, women-owned, and other underrepresented construction-related businesses in a learning program focused on sharing tools, resources, and opportunities for business growth and expansion.

Classes will be weekly on Mondays from 5:00-7:30 PM from October 2 – November 13, 2023, at the BioVentures Center in Coralville. Applicants need to commit to a minimum of 5 of the 6 classes.

Attendees will be selected through an application process. The application will close on September 22. Attendees will be announced on September 25 and contacted directly with more information. Each applying company can bring 2 attendees.

• Oct 2: Preconstruction – estimating, plan reading, bidding

• Oct 9: Procurement – vendor prequalification, contracts, insurance

• Oct 16: Engineering – RFIs, submittals, change management; Payment Applications – schedule of values, lien waivers, sworn statements, Textura, APP

• Oct 23: Scheduling – pull planning, manpower, sequencing, trade coordination

• Nov 6: Safety/Lean – logistics, Building LIFE, 5S, PTP, JHA

• Nov 13: Business Development/Graduation/Panel with Key Leaders – networking, pursuits, upcoming opportunities, UBE certification
