Work for Yourself@50+

Are you over 50 and looking for ways to improve your current financial situation and also pave the way to greater financial security down the road?  For many Americans, the goal of improved financial stability has been accomplished through self-employment in one of its many forms: side gigs, freelancing, contracted services, or staring a small business or microbusiness.

If you’re considering self-employment, you may not know where to start. AARP Foundation’s Work for Yourself@50+ program will guide through a process to help you decide whether being self-employed is right for you. The goal is to help you identify the right options for you, and point you to additional resources to help you get started. We will share the first steps you should take and caution you about mistakes to avoid.

Join with others exploring self-employment at the Iowa Center for Economic Success on November 29th from 6:-7:30 pm for this fee workshop. We will help you understand what self-employment looks like in today’s economy by reviewing some of the many options for those over 50.  Contact the Iowa Center at 888-339-5617 for more information.

Let’s get started!
