The Tea Room is located on the 6th floor of the historic Wilkins Building.

PARKING INSTRUCTIONS

LOCATION
The Tea Room is located on the sixth floor of the Wilkins Building at 713 Walnut Street in downtown Des Moines.

MAIN ENTRANCE
The entrance to the Wilkins building is located on 8th Street, halfway between Walnut Street and Locust Street.

On event days, there will be a sign outside the entrance of the building to help direct guests. Upon entering the building, the elevators are down the hall to the left. Take the elevator to the sixth fl oor and they will open right into the main lobby of The Tea Room.

If you are visiting The Tea Room during the week or on a day that an event is not scheduled, please use the call box at the main door to be buzzed into the building.

SKYWALK ENTRANCE
The skywalk entrance to The Tea Room is most directly accessible from the Des Moines Partnership building on the second fl oor. You can take the stairs or the elevator
to the second floor and follow the skywalk directions to the Wilkins/Tea Room entrance. Once inside the Wilkins building, take the elevator to the sixth fl oor.

STREET PARKING
Nearby street parking is free after 9:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and free all day Sunday.

RECOMMENDED PARKING GARAGES:

9th and Locust Parking Garage
Three-minute walk to The Tea Room.

Vehicle entrance and exit are on the south side of the garage on Locust Street.

The southeast corner of the garage links to the skywalk and provides the most direct route to The Tea Room (both on skywalk and street level). Handicap accessible entrances are on all four corners of the garage.

Rates are $1 per hour (up to $10 per day) Monday through Saturday between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. and free on Sundays. Accepts credit and debit cards only.

8th and Mulberry Parking Garage
Three-minute walk to The Tea Room.

Vehicle entrance and exit are on the northwest corner of the garage on Mulberry Street. The east half of the parking structure is EMC Insurance’s private parking.

Handicap accessible entrance and exit are on the north side of building on Mulberry Street. Pedestrian entrance and exit are on the south side of building on Cherry Street.
