Who Applies Anyone seeking to serve as a substitute teacher who has not completed a teacher preparation program.

When To Apply 4-6 weeks prior to the start of employment.

Initial Requirements Associate\\’s degree or 60 semester hours from a from a college or university accredited through an agency approved by the U.S. Dept. of Education and the completion of a substitute authorization workshop/course.

Duration 5 years.

Processing Time 4-6 weeks.

Fee Structure $85 to apply $75 background check for new applicants $95 to renew

Renewal Requirements 2 renewal credits and the mandatory reporter trainings for child and dependent adult abuse.
