About
Iowa Legal Aid is a civil law firm for low-income, elderly, and disabled Iowans. We provide free advice and legal services to low-income entrepreneurs and nonprofits as they form and grow their entities. The CED project helps people who want to start a small business or, if they already have a business, Iowa Legal Aid helps them with their legal issues. We do both transactional work and litigation.
If you would like an attorney to help you develop your small business, there are three ways to apply for Iowa Legal Aid Services:
1. Walk in to any of our 10 offices- open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. (not Thursday afternoons). Bring in paperwork with you about your business.
2. Call us 1-800-532-1275, Monday- Friday 9:00-11:00 a.m. or 1:30-3:30 p.m. (except not Thursday afternoons).

One of the goals of the CED Project is to provide legal education presentations to give information about business law. If you or a group you work with want to learn more about business law, contact Iowa Legal Aid to set up a presentation. We can give a presentation about general business law or about a more specific legal topic. The presentation can be in a different language if English is not the audience’s main language.
