About
Although originally chartered to serve grant-writing and planning needs for the area, Region XII COG has grown into the agency that facilitates multi-community collaboration and development of all types, providing initiatives in the region that are needed and otherwise not provided. Region XII COG has two divisions – Local Assistance and Western Iowa Transit, the region’s demand-response public transit system. To the public, the COG offers public transit services, loans and grants for homeowners to acquire or rehabilitate their residences, and loans to businesses of all sizes who create jobs. The COG also operates the Iowa Waste Exchange, a confidential service to help Iowa\'s companies divert waste from landfills and provide a mechanism to exchange items which may be usable by other companies or non-profits.
