The City of Clive is a municipal government that is able to provide assistance in various ways to small businesses and entrepreneurs. The services include assistance with identifying financial assistance opportunities through the City itself, regional programs and State of Iowa financial assistance initiatives.

City staff can also help business owners with identifying possible areas in the community to locate their business.  In addition to these specialized services the City also has a public library where small businesses and entrepreneurs can utilize various databases and research tools for business needs. Beyond the specialized services identified above, the City also provides the typical building and zoning code regulations that you would expect from a City government.  Also, if a Clive small business owner or entrepreneur is having diffiulty traversing public policy issues with the City, regional or state government, the City can be a facilitator of those public policy conversations and be a conduit to local elected officials and state representatives.
