Who Applies
Any individual or organization wishing to sell liquor and wine for on-premises consumption and beer for on-and off-premises consumption.
When To Apply
Before selling liquor, wine or beer to retail customers.
Initial Requirements
Application requires proof of dramshop liability insurance, the endorsement of the local authority, and observance of local ordinances governing licensed establishments. Licensees must also obtain an Iowa Sales Tax Permit, an Iowa Food Establishment Permit, an Iowa Sunday Sales Privilege if beer and wine will be sold/served on Sunday, and a Federal Occupational Tax Permit. Applicant Qualifications: Applicant must be 21 years of age or older, an U.S. citizen and an Iowa resident or a registered corporation, having no felony convictions within the past 5 years, possessing "good moral character" as defined in the Iowa Code section 123.3(34) and good financial standing.

One year, 8 month, 6 month, 14 day and 5 day.

Fee Structure
Fees are based on the population of the community. Basic fees range from $97.50 to $2,028 depending upon population and duration of the license.
