You can't land that big contract without first convincing someone that your experience and expertise will provide them with something of value. But sometimes it's difficult to adequately convey the full breadth of your ability, work history, and technical know-how in easy-to-understand language – especially when marketing yourself to possible government sector clients or partners.
To help Iowa businesses learn how to tell their companies' stories effectively, CIRAS has arranged this 2½ hour, hands-on workshop led by an Iowa content expert. Workshop attendees will learn how to:
- Understand the value of storytelling in a government sales environment.
- Refine your company positioning to attract government clients.
- Use branding techniques that capture your unique business story.
- Integrate your story into direct and indirect sales pitches.
Jennie Morton, owner of Herringbone Freelance in Cedar Rapids, will work with attendees to help you create a story of your business that can then be used throughout your marketing materials. Among other things, the language you create as a result of this workshop is something you'll be able to use in your capabilities statement, on your website, and in the sales pitches, you use to contact government agencies, as well as possible partners, subcontractors or prime contractors.
