Panther Biz Headquarters

The Panther Biz Headquarters (PBHQ) is a student-led program out of UNI’s Center for Business Growth and Innovation (CBGI). Started in 2018, the program has helped over 30 small businesses across Iowa with their digital marketing needs. The PBHQ gives students the opportunity to gain experience in their field while connecting and helping small businesses.

In just the first years of the program, the PBHQ has been able to make an impact on several small businesses. One client claimed, “During our project, the PBHQ demonstrated leadership and organizational skills by keeping to a schedule and completing the project on time. The results we received were very professional and far beyond our expectations. We have received many compliments on our new brand and have noticed an increase in business as a result of our new social media presence.”

Students work to perform market research on several different industries while staying up to date on the latest tactics for digital marketing. Students of the PBHQ have experience in various realms of digital marketing including; creating brand related content, organizing and scheduling a content calendar, implementing strategic advertising campaigns, developing and growing social platforms, and running and monitoring Facebook Advertising.

Beyond those skills, the PBHQ creates an intense detailed report for each of their clients. The report includes a summary of what they did for the client, why they decided to implement these decisions, and how the business can continue or alter these tactics in the future. A PBHQ client explained, “From our initial meeting we felt at ease and looked forward to creating a new brand and social media presence. Their creativity, knowledge and experience resulted in a new logo, business card, and a social media presence for our business on Facebook and Instagram. They also taught us how to maintain and update our Facebook and Instagram pages and provided a comprehensive and easy to follow user manual for us to reference if we have problems or questions in the future.”

The team has continued to work remotely and assist business owners in Iowa through the spread of COVID-19. If you know of a small business or are a small business owner yourself that could use assistance from the PBHQ do not hesitate to reach out. Our students are eager to help, learn, find ways to grow your business through the vast opportunities digital marketing offers.
