SBA to Host Lender Matchmaking Fair for Entrepreneurs
Entrepreneurs seeking financing to start their own small business or grow an existing small business will have the opportunity to meet representatives from SBA participating lenders during this event, which will follow a “speed coaching” format. Attendees will be scheduled for three 15-minute, one-on-one meetings where they can pitch their financing needs and learn more about how the small business financing process works. Attendees are encouraged to come with an elevator speech, a business plan and business financial information (if available). Visiting with SBA resource partners such as SCORE, America’s SBDC – Iowa, or the Women’s Business Center for assistance in advance of the SBA Lender Matchmaking Fair is encouraged.nes Botanical Garden, 909 Robert D. Lenders participating in the SBA Lender Matchmaking Fair include: Bank of the West, Bankers Trust, Community Bank, Freedom Financial Bank, Great Western Bank, Liberty National Bank, Lincoln Savings Bank, Northwest Bank, Two Rivers Bank& Trust, U.S. Bank, Wells Fargo Bank and West Bank.
Representatives from the SBA’s Iowa District Office, along with SBA resource partners including SCORE, America’s SBDC – Iowa, and the Iowa Women’s Business Center, will provide small business counseling, business planning assistance and other management and technical assistance at the event.
“The SBA is excited to launch this new initiative in Iowa,” said Jayne Armstrong, director of the SBA’s Iowa District Office. “We hope it will lead to some successful matches between potential lenders and small business borrowers seeking access to capital.”
The event is free, but space and appointments will be limited to the first 48 registrants. Deadline for registration is Friday, November 25th.
