Happy Women’s History Month

Happy Women’s History Month

Happy Women’s History Month from the NWBC!

At the Council, we believe in the power and promise of women’s entrepreneurship and there isn’t a better time to celebrate this than during Women’s History Month. I’m writing to share some exciting new developments and opportunities for you to join us in celebration!

#HerOwnBoss – We just launched a new initiative profiling women entrepreneurs, highlighting honest advice, important truths and inspiring stories. We believe sharing lessons learned and best practices is both empowering and educational for aspiring entrepreneurs. Women shouldn’t feel like they have to reinvent the wheel or go at it alone; we now have so many success stories to share, so we’re getting them out there!

Check out the interviews at www.nwbcgov.tumblr.com – and share them with your friends and colleagues!

March Public Meeting – We are excited to announce that our next public meeting will be in Detroit, Michigan, a city that has built a strong entrepreneurship ecosystem and holds an incredible opportunity for women business owners to innovate and lead. Our public meetings are an opportunity for the Council to share our most recent findings and research and our latest engagement efforts, and also answer any questions you may have. The event will be on March 25th at 1pm EST.

If you are in the area or know someone that is – please RSVP here! We hope you can join us.

On Mentorship – Our theme for this month is mentorship and the importance of women helping other women. This is a theme that has come up many times, so our Chair, Carla Harris, penned an op-ed about how to find a good mentor.

Read it on LinkedIn and share!

New Video: What is the NWBC? – We’ve launched a new video featuring our Council Members discussing what the Council does, why it matters and why everyone should pay attention to women entrepreneurs!

Please watch it and share!

As you can see it is a busy month here and we wouldn’t have it any other way. Our work is grounded in the belief that women have innovative ideas, are strong leaders and are launching businesses that are changing the world!

We are honored and grateful to be part of this movement with you.

Sincerely,
Samhita and the NWBC team
