IASourceLink Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) What is IASourceLink?
IASourceLink is where business begins in Iowa. Our mission is to help small businesses in Iowa grow and succeed. We provide firms with free, easy access to the help they need - when they need it.
The IASourceLink technology platform is a licensed product from U.S. SourceLink, America's largest resource network for entrepreneurs. The platform was developed through support from the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, the U.S. Small Business Administration and the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
How does IASourceLink help Iowa entrepreneurs, small business owners, and resource providers?
IASourceLink connects Iowa entrepreneurs to a network of 320+ nonprofit resource organizations that provide business-building services through our online Resource Navigator 24/7. We facilitate the linking of these resource organizations to one another and to established, emerging, and start-up businesses in Iowa.
We serve our resource providers by helping them better connect to one another and regularly provide referrals from the entrepreneurs who we serve to their organizations for follow-up and direct services.
IASourceLink also houses monthly free business webinars, provides licensing assistance to Iowa businesses, and has an online business consultant who can answer most any question you might have about starting or growing your Iowa-based firm.
Who manages IASourceLink?
IASourceLink is brought to you by the Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA) in collaboration with MyEntre.Net at the University of Northern Iowa.
What is a resource provider?
A resource provider is a public-sector organization whose mission it is to serve Iowa's business community with technical assistance, funding, resource connections, or other services to help Iowans start or grow their own enterprises.
How do I get my organization listed in the Resource Navigator?
Your public-sector organization can become listed in the Resource Navigator by completing this online form and contacting our staff. Online submission alone will not get your organization included in the Navigator. For questions or more information, feel free to contact us.
Can I put my private sector organization in the Resource Navigator?
At this time, IASourceLink is a tool for connecting public-sector organizations with entrepreneurs. Private-sector organizations are not included in the Resource Navigator.
Do you accept guest blogs, event listings, or other web content?
We love great content. We regularly post guest blogs, events, and other web resources to IASourceLink. We do not accept submissions from private-sector businesses, however if you are a resource provider be sure to send us your events, blog articles, and other web related resources, and we will help share it with our Iowa business owner audience. Feel free to contact us to learn more about how this process works!
