Iowa Vendor Self Service: New Electronic Bidding System

Iowa Vendor Self Service: New Electronic Bidding System

To enhance supplier access to state procurement opportunities and facilitate online solicitation responses, the Iowa Department of Administrative Services (DAS) has implemented Iowa Vendor Self Service (VSS).

This new online bidding system replaces DAS eBid, and will feature bid opportunities posted by DAS Central Procurement Enterprise (DAS-CPE), Department of Corrections (DOC) facilities, the Department of Human Services (DHS), and Iowa Veterans Home (IVH). Bid opportunities for other state entities will be added as agencies enroll.

Suppliers who wish to conduct business with the State of Iowa are encouraged to register with Iowa Vendor Self-Serve (VSS). To be notified of State bid opportunities and respond to electronic bid postings, suppliers must have a User ID and Password created in Iowa VSS.

Registration is easy
: Go to the website vss.iowa.gov and click the Register button in the left-hand navigation. Follow the prompts and remember to register for all commodity classes for which you are interested. A “commodity class” is any good(s) that you sell, or service(s) that you provide. It is very important that you register for specific commodity classes. If you do not register for a commodity class, you will not receive e-mail notifications about bidding opportunities for the goods or services that fall into that commodity class.  Email notifications regarding bid opportunities will only be submitted to the person who registers your account unless additional users are registered.

Step-by-step instructions: Registration and account maintenance instructions can be found in the Iowa VSS Registration Quick Start Guideand Iowa VSS Account Help Guide.
