Look to Seinfeld for Success

Look to Seinfeld for Success

I’m a child of the 90’s (though my wife may argue I am still a child).  As such, Seinfeld’s show about nothing left a profound impact on my life, and thankfully TBS continues to keep it on the air for me.  I use its lessons on life often as a guide for what not to do.  But in reality, Seinfeld has some powerful lessons for startups.  From time to time, I hope to write about them here.

The first that comes to mind is the power of niche.  Jerry’s girlfriends are a perfect lesson for this.  They all had some way to set themselves apart.  There was the same-dress wearer, Man Hands, the belly button talker, the toy collector, etc., etc.  The point is they all had something that set them apart.  If you have seen the show as much as I have, you can’t forget most of them because of their quirks.

I hope you are making the same attempts with your business.  Be different.  Be unique.  Be amazing.  Make your belly button talk.  Eat your peas one at a time.  Whatever it takes to be noticed.
