Fall Reading List for Entrepreneurs!

Fall is rapidly approaching and officially begins on September 22! As the leaves begin to change colors and your football teams head towards the playoffs here is a short reading list that can help improve your business! 1. The E-Myth: Revisited by Michael Gerber

This is probably one of you have heard of and if you haven’t move it towards the top of your reading pile. Gerber revisits his bestsellerThe E-Myth and works to dispel the myths that surround starting your own business. One of the larger points that Gerber makes is recognizing the distinction between working ON your business and working IN your business. Click here to check out another review.

2. Beyond Wealth: The Road Map to a Rich Life by Alexander Green

Alex Green is a bestselling author that takes time in this point to look at the things that really matter. He works to help you think about the most important things in your life and how to have a ‘good life’. He leaves it up to each individual reader to determine their own ‘good life’ is. The book is an excellent read for entrepreneurs looking to balance work and life and to strive towards the ‘rich life’ they choose. Click here to check out another review.

3. Practically Radical by William C. Taylor

Everyday companies are executing initiatives to improve processes within their companies. Taylor writes that regardless of the innovation of the process it won’t work if the leaders of the company haven’t first challenged and transformed themselves. When creating/changing the identity of your company you have to stand for something first before the company can stand for something. 4. Those Guys Have All the Fun: Inside the World of ESPN by James Andrew Miller and Tom Shades

For the sports fans out there this book is an excellent read to learn about the business decisions made behind the ESPN business. Miller and Shales write an instructive tale of how a number of smart, driven people built a business and the struggles behind their decision making. This book is a great read for the season. 5. The Lean Startup by Eric Ries

Ries defines a startup as an organization dedicated to creating something new under conditions of extreme uncertainty. His book focuses on companies that are more capital efficient and that leverage human creativity more effectively. A good read that works to make creativity and innovation into efficient processes. Bonus Book: Thinking, Fast and Slows by Daniel Kahneman

Kahneman writes this book to make you question every decision that you have ever made.Fast intuitive, emotional decisions are compared to slower, theoretically logical decisions and then merged to help us make judgments. The book takes a look at risk, predictions, overconfidence, and how to make overall better decisions. Click here to check out another review.
