The Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA) and Iowa Department of Transportation (IDOT) are partnering to host the fifth Moving Iowa Forward: Economic Development and Transportation Conference.  The conference will help attendees understand how transportation and economic development can and is working together to make Iowa a better place to do business. Featuring: Dr. Marc Levinson, Author, The Box: How the Shipping Container Made the World Smaller and the World Economy Bigger, is the conference keynote presenter. Dr. Levinson is a renowned economist, historian, international business expert and journalist. Dr. Levinson has completed five books on economics and business strategy, worked as a business journalist at Time and Newsweek and held the position of finance and economics editor at The Economist in London.

The conference general session will also feature a panel discussion about containerized shipping in Iowa and presentations by Iowa DOT and IEDA directors Paul Trombino and Debi Durham.  Afternoon breakout sessions will feature topics on transportation tools, innovative logistics and solutions and site selection.
